The fostering of soft skills in an undergraduate population has been highly encouraged and valued to complement technical knowledge outside an academic setting. My project specifically aims to help improve a multidisciplinary knowledge translation course which was created by students for students. By facilitating focus groups and examining quantitative forms of assessment within the course, I hope to better understand interpersonal dynamics and ultimately implement changes to ensure that students are able to develop transferable skills.
As a member of the Organization and Planning Committee of the McMaster Demystifying Medicine Seminar Series, I assist in the planning of biweekly seminars revolving around current scientific research, in addition to various community outreach events.
